The Problem
This customer was moving into a home, and was renovating the exterior. The chimney was leaking extensively, the roof needed to be replaced, and the customer planned on being in the home for a long time.
The Solution
The customer had been referred to Bird’s Eye Roofing from a close friend, and trusted the experience of our team. CertainTeed Landmark Pro Moire Black was recommended to complement the black shutters and black metal roof. Additionally, Bird’s Eye contracted to rebuild the chimney and reseal with a new chimney cap. The customer contracted for the work.
Results
The customer’s original roof was removed down to the bare decking. All debris was removed promptly, and rotten decking replaced. The decking was then covered with synthetic underlayment and drip edge to make it water tight. All flashing was replaced, including step, counter, and chimney. This would ensure the highest quality installation standards, and make the roof last a lifetime.
The CertainTeed Landmark Pro Moire Black shingles were installed in the stair step pattern to meet manufacturer guidelines. From there, the ridge vent and hips were sealed with high quality CertainTeed Shadowridge Hip and Ridge shingles.
After the roof installation, the chimney was rebuilt and all chimney caps replaced. The customer is confident the Marietta roof replacement will remain watertight for the next several decades, and that they can move to renovating the interior!
